The Myanmar military and Police Force have been committing grave human rights violations against the people of Myanmar since the coup on 1st February 2021, amounting to crimes against humanity. The impunity of the Myanmar military must end, and the brutal junta must be held accountable for its crimes. Here are just some of the crimes being committed with total impunity in Myanmar as the people continue to stand in defiance of the illegitimate brutal military: targeting of civilians using lethal force; shoot-on-sight policies with live ammunition; extrajudicial killings; arbitrary arrest; detention and torture; forced labour; sexual violence; theft and looting; destruction of property; internet restrictions; muzzling of the press; violence against children; forced displacement; and concealment and the destruction of evidence of their crimes, among others.
