The people of Myanmar face an unprecedented dual crisis: the military junta’s use of aid as weapons and obstruction of critical assistance, along with the catastrophic impact of Cyclone Mocha. We condemn these actions and call for justice, compassion, and international intervention to alleviate the profound suffering in Myanmar. The junta’s tactics expose their ongoing genocidal campaigns, particularly against ethnic minorities like the Rohingya, violating international humanitarian laws.
Cyclone Mocha has devastated Myanmar, causing extensive flooding, landslides, and infrastructure damage. In regions like Rakhine State, many lives have been lost, and homes, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure have been destroyed. Even before the cyclone, the junta’s attacks left over 18 million people in dire need, with thousands killed and tens of thousands of buildings destroyed. This crisis has pushed Myanmar’s population further into poverty.
The cyclone-affected communities are vulnerable, grappling with the aftermath of the disaster. Families have lost loved ones, homes, and possessions, forcing them into temporary shelters or internal displacement. Essential services like water, healthcare, and education have been disrupted, increasing the risk of disease, malnutrition, and psychological trauma. Urgent humanitarian assistance is critical to prevent further deterioration.
The international community must respond urgently to the junta’s aid manipulation and the dire situation in Myanmar. Diplomatic pressure, targeted sanctions, and robust humanitarian assistance are necessary to hold the junta accountable and alleviate the immense suffering. The people of Myanmar deserve support and solidarity. Immediate intervention will provide relief, restore dignity, and empower communities to rebuild their lives.
By denouncing the junta’s tactics and calling for international intervention, we affirm our commitment to justice, compassion, and human rights. Let us stand united to alleviate the suffering in Myanmar and hold the perpetrators accountable. Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those in need.
Sincerely,

Dr. Sasa

Union Minister

Ministry of International Cooperation

National Unity Government

Republic of the Union of Myanmar
