It further highlighted that aid organizations are facing significant challenges, including security risks, funding shortages, and restrictions on access. In addition, during a closed-door UN Security Council meeting on Myanmar held in New York on 6 March, the ASEAN Chair’s Special Envoy, who is the Foreign Minister of the Philippines, spoke regarding the implementation of the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus. In the 2026 report from the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) released on 4 March, it was stated that the Myanmar military junta is intentionally employing a “divide and rule” policy by weaponizing race and religion. The report further recommended that Myanmar continue to be designated as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC).
