Escalating Aerial Attacks Across Key Conflict Zones – Issue 190

During the two-week period from 29 January to 11 February 2026, armed clashes continued across Myanmar, with the military junta sustaining significant casualties. The number of airstrike events also increased compared to the previous two-week reporting period. Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of airstrike events, while the number of aerial attack incidents in Chin State, Magway Region, Kachin State, and Karen State was also higher than in the preceding two-week period.

On the morning of 5 February 2026, the junta carried out an airstrike on the Mingalar Monastery in Thit Say Kone Village, north of Taze Township, Sagaing Region. The attack killed five civilians, including a novice monk aged 12, two women aged approximately 40, and two men aged approximately 50. An additional 14 civilians were also wounded, including two novice monks. According to the village administrator, the junta aircrafts not only dropped bombs but also fired heavy machine guns and rockets.
