YANGON, 31 January 2019 – “UNICEF Myanmar expresses deep sorrow and sadness over the death of a seven year old child following an injury sustained during an exchange of fire between the Arakan Army and the Myanmar military near Thamee Hla village in northern Rakhine State.
Our thoughts go to the family. UNICEF calls on all parties to ensure the safety of children caught up in conflict and to protect their right to a peaceful life.”
