France is concerned about the Burmese military regime’s decision to transfer State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi – hitherto under house arrest – to a prison in Naypyidaw.
This decision makes the prospect of the political dialogue requested by the international community – in which Aung San Suu Kyi must necessarily be involved – still more remote.
France renews its call for all people arbitrarily held in Burma to be released without delay and for an immediate and unconditional cessation of the violence perpetrated by the security forces.
