Statement on Resolving the Current Political Crisis

With the aim of working together with organizations and individuals who share the same policies to resolve the country’s deep-rooted problems, build a Federal Democratic Union, develop the people’s social economic lives, and stand with dignity in the international community, the discussions and negotiations began since 2023, and the Political Coordination Body (PCB) was formally established on February 20, 2026, with the following objectives:
- To establish a Federal Democratic Union.
- To ensure the emergene of Constitution that grantees Federal Democracy
- To ensure the emergence of political talks include all relevant conflict stakeholders in order to reslove current conflicts
- To work with alliances committed to working towards Federal Democracy
To resolve the country’s deep-rooted problems and ensure that all ethnic nationalities living within the country to coexist peacefully together, all relevant parties have a responsibility to guarantee the fundamental rights, citizen rights, and basic human rights. We, the Political Coordination Body (PCB) believes that the country’s root problems and conflicts can only be resolved by creating a conducive political environment, drafting and enacting a federal democratic constitution through inclusive political dialogues involving all relevant conflict stakeholders, and building the country as a Federal Democratic Union in accordance with that constitution.
In order to ensure the emergence of the genuine political dialogues and to create conditions for building mutual trust among relevant forces, the PCB hereby issues the following declaration:
- Release all political prisoners Immediately and unconditionally, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and U Win Myint, and all those detained for political reasons.
- All relevant forces to recognize and guarantee citizens’ fundamental rights, including Freedom of Association and Freedom of Expression.
- All relevant organizations to refrain from forced conscription and military service, in order to free young people and their families from anxiety and to prevent the loss of human capital.

- All sides to avoid military operations that would cause death and destruction to civilian populations and, targeted attacks on civilian and public infrastructure such as religious building, hospitals, schools, and other public entities.
- Refrain from taking action against CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) members and civil servants, and to stop blocking citizens’ rights to freedome of livelihood and freedom of movement.
- Work together with the international community on rebuilding and rehabilitating the livelihoods of people who have suffered physical and psychological damage due to the impacts of war, providing humanitarian assistance, and advancing social justice.
- Create conditions for political, economic, social, and other forces and individuals residing abroad to voluntarily return to their homeland with dignity.
- Strive to hold inclusive political dialogues involving all relevant stakeholders, aiming to a Federal Democratic Union in order to resolve the country’s deep-rooted problems.
- Cooperate with ASEAN, the United Nations, neighboring countries, other international governments, and international organizations in order to successfully carry out the political dialogues.
