Media Advisory: Myanmar Solidarity Panel Discussion on the 3rd Anniversary of the Military Junta’s Failed Coup Attempt
On 29 January 2024, Alternative ASEAN Network on Burma (ALTSEAN-Burma), Asia Justice and Rights, Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA), Initiatives for International Dialogue, KontraS, and Progressive Voice, are holding the “Myanmar Solidarity Panel Discussion on the 3rd Anniversary of the Military Junta’s Failed Coup Attempt”.
This panel discussion will shed light on the current state of Myanmar and the people’s efforts which are laying the foundations towards the country’s federal democratic future, as well as the Rohingya refugee crisis in Southeast Asia. The panel will also provide recommendations to ASEAN and its Member States in addressing the Myanmar crisis.
The audience will further have an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming advocacy plans of local and regional civil society organizations, including the Position Paper on the alternative strategy for the ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus.
The event will be conducted in English and Myanmar languages. Simultaneous interpretation for both languages will be provided.
