Update: Karen Villagers Protest Burma Army’s Attacks and Occupation

9 February, 2021
Karen State, Burma

In the village of Lay Kay, Tha Ton District, in Karen State, over 700 hundred villagers protested the Burma Army camp in their village, violations of the ceasefire, and the killing of Karen people. In the past two months the Burma Army has killed civilians and displaced over 3000 villagers. They also have maintained camps that violate the ceasefire agreement. Villagers are demanding the Burma Army honors the ceasefire and leave their villages and stop killing and displacing people from their homes. Please pray these protests have an effect and that the Burma Army’s heart would soften and change.

Thank you and God bless you,
The Free Burma Rangers
