On 10 June 2020, Myo Thant, a 43-year-old man from Paletwa Township was shot dead by the Light Infantry Division (LID) 22. The incident took place outside the village of Tha Htay Kone as the Tatmadaw open-fired on a lorry carrying 21 people bound for the village of Nanchaungwa (Hnan Chaung) in order to pick up rice for internally displaced people (IDPs). The group had been authorized to undertake the journey and distribute the food items by the tactical commander based in Seint Sin village:

“With permission from the tactical commander, they [villagers] were on the way to Nanchaungwa village to pick up the rice for the IDPs from Seint Sin village using the village administrator’s lorry. At the entrance of Tha Htay Kone village, the Tatmadaw troops from LID 22 began firing and U Myo Thant was hit and wounded to his abdomen by a bullet. He was killed on the spot. The Tatmadaw only stopped shooting when the rest of the people were shouting out loud that they are villagers [civilians] and they have got Tatmadaw’s permission [to travel]. If they hadn’t done this [shouted], they would have all been killed in the shooting,” said one source who agreed to speak to CHRO on condition of anonymity.  

U Myo Thant was a resident of Nanchaungwa village and was living in a temporary camp as an IDP with his wife and two children at Seint Sin village. Sources also informed CHRO that U Myo Thant’s body was taken by the Tatmadaw and is yet to be released in order for a burial to take place.

Seint Sein village, located approximately 3 miles south of Paletwa Town is located at the junction separating the roads leading east to Samee Town and south to Kyauktaw Township in Rakhine State. The village of Seint Sein is currently where many IDPs who have left Paletwa Town due to the poor conditions there are located as they plan to risk returning home to other villages in the area, despite the on-going fighting.

This latest death has brought the number of civilians killed to 43 in the conflict between the Arakan Army (AA) and the Tatmadaw which began in 2015.

စစ်ဘေးရှောင်တွေအတွက် ဆန်သယ်ယူနေစဉ် မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်က ပစ်ခတ်တဲ့အတွက် ရွာသားတစ်ဦးသေဆုံး

ချင်းပြည်နယ်တောင်ပိုင်း ပလက်ဝမြို့နယ် စိမ်စင်းကျေးရွာ ယာယီစစ်ဘေးရှောင်စခန်းတွင်နေထိုင်သူ များအတွက် ဆန်သယ်ယူနေစဉ် မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်က ပစ်ခတ်ခဲ့တဲ့အတွက် ရွာသားတစ်ဦးသေဆုံးခဲ့သည်ဟု အမည်မဖော်လိုသူ ဒေသခံတစ်ဦးက ချင်းလူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့ထံ သတင်းပေးပို့ပါသည်။

၁၀၊ ၀၆၊ ၂၀၂၀ရက်နေ့ မနက်(၈)နာရီအချိန်လောက်တွင် စိမ်းစင်ကျေးရွာအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးကားနှင့် လိုက်ပါသွားတဲ့လူ(၂၁)ဦးတို့သည် စိမ်းစင်ကျေးရွာမှ နန်းချောင်းဝကျေးရွာသို့ ဆန်သယ်ယူရန်သွားရောက်စဉ် သူဌေးကုန်းရွာအဝင်တွင် တပ်မ-၂၂ လက်အောက်ခံစစ်တပ်က ပစ်ခတ်ခဲ့တဲ့အတွက် အသက်(၄၃)နှစ်အရွယ် ဦးမျိုးသန့်သည် ကျည်ဆံထိမှန်ပြီး ပွဲချင်းသေဆုံးခဲ့ရသည်ဟု ထိုသူကဆိုသည်။

အခင်းဖြစ်ပွားသည့်နေရာတွင်ပင် ဦးမျိုးသန့်သည် ဝမ်းဗိုက်တွင် ကျည်ဆံထိမှန်၍သေဆုံးခဲ့ရပြီး သူနှင့်အတူ ကားပေါ်မှာလိုက်ပါသွားသည့် ကျန်ရွာသားများက “ကနော်တို့က လူထုဖြစ်ပါတယ် မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်ရဲ့ ခွင့်ပြုချက်ပါတယ်” လို့လက်မြှောက်ပြီး အော်ဟစ်ခဲ့ကြတဲ့အတွက် သူတို့ကလွတ်မြောက်ခဲ့ရခြင်းဖြစ်ကြောင်း သူကဆက်လက်ပြောဆိုပါသည်။

 “သူတို့က ဗျူဟာမှူးရဲ့ထောက်ခံချက်နဲ့ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်တွေအတွက် နန်းချောင်းဝရွာမှာ ကျန်တဲ့ဆန်တွေ သွားယူဖို့ စိမ်းစင်းရွာက ကားတစ်စီးနဲ့ လူ(၂၁)ယောက်တို့သွားကြတော့ သူဌေးကုန်းကျေးရွာနားမှာ တပ်မ-၂၂ လက်အောက်ခံတပ်ကပစ်တော့ ဦးမျိုးသန့်က ဝမ်းဗိုက်မှာကျည်ထိတော့ အဲဒီနေရာမှာဘဲ ပွဲချင်းသေတယ်၊ ကျန်တဲ့ရွာသားတွေက ကျနော်တို့ လူထုပါ စစ်တပ်ရဲှုခွင့်ပြုချက်ပါတယ်လို့အော်တော့ ဆက်မပစ်တော့ဘူးပေါ့ ဒီလိုသာမအော်လိုက်ယင် သူတို့လည်း အားလုံးသေကုန်မှာ” ဟု ထိုသူက ဆက်ဆိုသည်။

စိမ်းစင်းကျေးရွာမှ နန်းချောင်းဝကျေးရွာသို့ ကျန်ရှိတဲ့ဆန်များသယ်ယူရန်အတွက် စိမ်းစင်းကျေးရွာမှာ အခြေချလျှက်ရှိသော တပ်မ(၂၂)ဗျူဟာမှူး၏ခွင့်ပြုချက်ဖြစ် သွားရောက်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သော်လည်း ယခုလို ပစ်ခတ်မှုအပေါ် နားလည်ရခက်ကြောင်းနှင့် ဦးမျိုးသန့်၏ ရုပ်အလောင်းကို သူ့မိသားစုဝင်တွေ ယူဆောင်ခွင့်မပေးဘဲ မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်က မြေမြုပ်ခဲ့ကြကြောင်း ထိုသူကဆက်ဆိုသည်။

သေဆုံးသူ ဦးမျိုးသန့်သည် နန်းချောင်းဝကျေးရွာသားဖြစ်ပြီး  လက်ရှိတွင် စိမ်းစင်းကျေးရွာ၌ သူ့မိသားစုများ နှင့်အတူ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်အနေနဲ့ ယာယီခိုလှုံနေရခြင်းဖြစ်ကြောင်းနှင့် သားသမီး(၂)ဦးနှင့် ဇနီးသည်ကျန်ရစ် ခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရပါသည်။

စိမ်းစင်ကျေးရွာသည် ပလက်ဝမြို့မှ (၃) မိုင် လောက်အကွာ ကျောက်တော်မြို့နှင့် ဆမီးမြို့လမ်းခွဲ ကားလမ်းမပေါ် တွင်တည်ရှိပြီး ပလက်ဝမြို့ပေါ်မှာ စစ်ဘေးရှောင်အဖြစ်နေထိုင်သော ကျေးရွာတစ်ရွာ ဖြစ်သော်လည်း လက်ရှိတွင် တိုက်ပွဲအခြေအနေ အနည်းငယ်ငြိမ်နေတဲ့ကာလအတွင်း ရွာသားတချို့ ရွာတွင်ပြန်သွားကြပြီး နေထိုင်ကြရာကနေ အနီးနားကျေးရွာသားတချို့တွေလည်း  စိမ်းစင်းကျေးရွာတွင် ယာယီခိုလှုံနေရခြင်း ဖြစ်ကြောင်း အဆိုပါဒေသခံက ဆက်ဆိုသည်။

၂၀၁၅ခုနှစ်မတ်လမှစတင်၍ ယနေ့အချိန်အထိ ချင်းပြည်နယ်တောင်ပိုင်း ပလက်ဝမြို့နယ်တွင် မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်နှင့် AAလက်နက်ကိုင်တပ်ဖွဲ့အကြား တိုက်ပွဲဖြစ်ပွားလျှက်ရှိရာ ယခုအချိန်အထိ ပလက်ဝမြို့နယ်အတွင်းရှိ အပြစ်မဲ့ပြည်သူစုစုပေါင်း(၄၁)ဦး အသက်ဆုံးရူံးခဲ့ရပြီဖြစ်ကြောင်း သတင်းရရှိပါသည်။
