(Myebone Township, Rakhine State – 24th February 2020)

On 21^st Feb 2020, U Maung Phyu, a village headman from Taung Shey Village of Myebon Township in Rakhine State was kidnapped by members of the Arakan Army (AA) having been accused of having connections with the Tatmadaw.

50-year-old, U Maung Phyu, was taken away by a group of five AA soldiers who surrounded and raided his house at approximately 4 p.m. Sources told CHRO that he was attacked by the AA inside his home and beaten unconscious before being taken, dragged out of the village, hands tied:

“He was still only semi-conscious from the beatings when he was loaded onto a motorbike with his hands tied behind his back and taken away from the village. The AA soldiers came fully armed with automatic rifles and hand grenades when they surrounded the house. We are very worried U Maung Phyu might well be killed already,” stated one eye-witness.

U Maung Phyu is a Chin by ethnicity and is married with one daughter. Sources have informed CHRO that this is the first time AA soldiers have kidnapped civilians from their area.

မြေပုံမြို့နယ်အတွင်းက ကျေးရွာအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးတစ်ဦးအား AA အဖွဲ့ကဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်

ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ် မြေပုံမြို့နယ် တောင်ချေကျေးရွာ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးတာဝန်ခံ တစ်ဦးကို တပ်မတော်နှင့် အဆက်အသွယ်ရှိတဲ့အတွက်ဟုဆိုကာ AA အဖွဲ့ကဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်ခဲ့သည်ဟု အမည်မဖော်လိုသူ ဒေသခံတဦးက ချင်းလူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့ထံ သတင်းပေးပို့ပါသည်။

ယိုးဆနွင်းအုပ်စု တောင်ချေကျေးရွာ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးတာဝန်ခံဖြစ်သည့် အသက်(၅၀)နှစ်အရွယ် ဦးမောင်ဖြူသည် ၂၁၊ ၀၂၊ ၂၀၂၀ရက်နေ့ ညနေ(၄)နာရီလောက်အချိန်တွင် ၎င်းနေအိမ်အတွင်းနေစဉ် AA အဖွဲ့(၅)ယောက်လောက်က သူ့နေအိမ်ကိုဝိုင်းရံကြပြီး အိမ်အတွင်းဝင်ရောက် ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်သွားရခြင်း ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ထိုသူကဆက်ဆိုသည်။

AA အဖွဲ့က အိမ်အတွင်းဝင်ရောက်ဖမ်းဆီးနေစဉ် ဦးမောင်ဖြူအား ဝိုင်းဝန်းထိုးကြိတ်ရိုက်နှက်ခဲ့ကြတဲ့အတွက် သတိလစ်မေ့မျောခဲ့ရကြောင်း၊ နောက် လက်ကိုနောက်ပြန်ကြိုးတုတ်ခဲ့ပြီး ဆိုင်ကယ်နဲ့ရွာအပြင်ဖက်သို့ ဆက်လက်ခေါ်ဆောင်သွားခဲ့ကြကြောင်း စသဖြင့်သူက ဆက်လက်ပြောဆိုပါသည်။

“AA အဖွဲ့တွေက လူ(၅)ယောက်လောက်ဖြစ်တယ် သူတို့က သေနတ်နဲ့ လက်ပစ်ဗုံးတွေလည်းပါကြတယ် သူတို့က ဦးမောင်ဖြူအိမ်ကို ဝိုင်းကြပြီး အိမ်ထဲမှာရှိတဲ့ ဦးမောင်ဖြူကို ဝိုင်းဝန်းထိုးကြိတ်ရိုက်နှက်ခဲ့တဲ့အတွက် ဦးမောင်ဖြူက သတိလစ်မေ့မျောသွားပေမဲ့ သူ့လိုက်ကိုနောက်ပြန်ကြိုးတုတ်လက်ထိပ်ခတ်ကာ သတိလစ်ယင်းနဲ့ ဘဲဆိုင်ကယ်နဲ့ ရွာအပြင်တောထဲသို့ခေါ်ဆောင်သွားကြတယ်၊ အခုAAတွေက သူ့ကိုသတ်တောင် သတ်နိုင် လောက်ပြီ ကျနော်တို့အရမ်းစိုးရိမ်ပူပန်နေကြတယ်၊ အရမ်းလည်းကြောက်နေကြတယ်” စသဖြင့် အဆိုပါမျက်မြင်သက်သေတဦးက ဆက်လက်ပြောဆို ပါသည်။

တောင်ချေကျေးရွာ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးတာဝန်ခံ ဦးမောင်ဖြူသည် ချင်းအမျိုးသားတဦးဖြစ်ပြီး သားသမီးတစ် ယောက်ရှိတဲ့ အိမ်ထောင်သည်ဖြစ်ကြောင်းနှင့် ယိုးဆနွင်းအုပ်စုအတွင်း AA အဖွဲ့က ရွာသားဖမ်းဆီး ခေါ်ဆောင်ဒါ အခုပထမအကြိမ်ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သတင်းရရှိပါသည်။
