(Paletwa Township, Chin State -24th Feb 2020)

On 19^th Feb 600 civilians from Mee Let Wa Village, Paletwa Township evacuated their village and fled to Paletwa Town due to safety concerns related to ongoing fighting between Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA). During three days of intense fighting, 3 villagers sustained injuries from shrapnel after heavy artillery exploded in the village. A local source told CHRO;

“There has been heavy fighting between the Tatmadaw and AA, not very far from our village and we are also advised by the Tatmadaw to be careful and stay away from the conflict. Some heavy weapons and artillery also landed and blasted inside our village which recently injured three villagers. Because of this blast from the heavy weapon, we no longer dare to stay in our village. That’s why we abandoned and escaped to Paletwa”

On 16^th Feb at approximately 1 pm, U Ngan Aung, 48 and Daw Kui Wat, 65 were both injured from artillery explosion. The pair were taken to Paletwa General Hospital on the same day with U Ngan Aung sustaining injuries to his left shoulder and Daw Kui Wat to her arm. Daw Kui Wat has since been released having received treatment.

Two days later, on 18^th Feb at approximately 9 pm, 14-year-old, Mg. Kyaw Htay Oo was injured as more heavy artillery landed inside the village. Mg. Kyaw Htay Oo sustained injuries to his head and was admitted to Paletwa’s General Hospital for treatment on the same night, where shrapnel was removed from his head. He is currently still in hospital recovering.

[Lower] Mee Let Wa is located south-east of Paletwa town on the other side of Kaladan River and has more than 130 households in total. Due to the fighting between the Tatmadaw and AA the villagers are no longer willing to risk living in the village with the entire population now located in Paletwa Town for their security.

According to sources, the 600 people who left the village together, crossing the Kaladan River to get to Paletwa Town, will not be left to stay with friends or relatives as is commonplace for IDPs, as local administrative committees are preparing for the group to be housed long term;

“Unlike other times, the village administrator, committee and town elders are planning that we will not stay with our friends and relatives in different places but stay together in a group. They are now looking for a place to live and discussing with the General Administrative Department,” a source added.

အခုတလော  ချင်းပြည်နယ်တောင်ပိုင်း ပလက်ဝမြို့မှတဖက်ကမ်း အောက်မီးလက်ဝကျေးရွာအနားမှာ မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်နှင့် AAတို့အကြား နေ့စဉ်ဆက်တိုက် တိုက်ပွဲဖြစ်ပွားရာ ရွာသား(၃)ဦး လက်နက်ကြီးကျည် ထိမှန်တဲ့အထိ ဖြစ်ပွားနေတဲ့အတွက် (၆၀၀)ကျော်သောရွာသူရွာသားများသည် ဒီကနေ့ ပလက်ဝမြို့သို့ ထွက်တိမ်းရှောင်နေကြကြောင်း ဒေသခံတစ်ဦးက ချင်းလူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့ထံ သတင်းပေးပို့ပါသည်။

အခုတလော(၃)ရက်တောအတွင်း ရွာသား(၃)ဦး လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ထိမှန်တဲ့အတွက် အောက်မီးလက်၀ ကျေးရွာသားတွေဟာ ရွာထဲမှာဆက်လက် မနေရဲကြတော့တဲ့အတွက် ဒီကနေ့ ၁၉၊ ၀၂၊ ၂၀၂၀ရက်နေ့တွင် ရွာကိုစွန့်ကြကာ အခုလိုမျိုးရွာလုံးကျွတ်ပလက်ဝမြို့သို့ ထွက်ပြေးတမ်းရှောင်နေရခြင်းဖြစ်ကြောင်း ထိုသူက ဆက်ဆိုသည်။

“အခုရက်ပိုင်းအတွင်း ကျနော်တို့ကျေးရွာနဲ့ သိပ်မဝေးတဲ့နေရာမှာ အစိုးရတပ်မတော်နဲ့ AAတို့နေ့စဉ်ဆက်လက် တိုက်ပွဲပြင်းထန်တဲ့အတွက် တပ်မတော်ဖက်ကလည်း ရှောင်ပေးကြဖို့အကြံပေးတယ်၊ ရွာထဲမှာလည်း လက်နက် ကြီးကျည်တွေကျရောက်ပေါက်ကွဲတဲ့အတွက် ရွာသား(၃)ဦးဒဏ်ရာရတဲ့အထိဖြစ်လာတော့ ရွာသားတွေလည်း ရွာမှာဆက်မနေရဲ ကြတော့တဲ့အတွက် အခုလိုရွာကိုစွန့်ကာ ပလက်ဝဖက်သို့ ထွက်ပြေးတိမ်းရှောင်လာ ရခြင်းဖြစ်တယ်” ဟု အဆိုပါရွာသားက ဆက်လက်ပြောပါသည်။

သူကဆက်လက်ပြီး “ အခုကျနော်တို့ ရွာကလူတွေအားလုံး(၆၀၀)ကျော်ဟာ ပလက်ဝမြို့သို့ အားလုံးကူးကြပြီ၊ ရွာကလူကြီးတွေက စီစဉ်ထားတာကတော့ အရင်လို အသိအိမ် အမျိုးအိမ်တွေမှာ တယောက်တပေါက်နဲ့ နေထိုင်တာမျိုးမဟုတ်တော့ဘဲ ရွာသားအားလုံးတနေရာထဲမှာ စုပြီးအားလုံးပေါင်းနေထိုင်နိုင်ရန်အတွက် အခုရွာအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးနှင့် လူကြီးတွေက နေရာစီစဉ်ပေးရန် ပလက်ဝမြို့ ထွေအုပ်ရုံးမှာ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးတွေနဲ့ တိုင်ပြင်နေကြတယ်” ဟုဆိုသည်။

လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ထိမှန်ခြင်းနှင့်ပတ်သက်၍ အဆိုပါဒေသခံကဆက်လက်ပြောဆိုရာမှာ–

၁၆၊ ၀၂၊ ၂၀၂၀ရက်နေ့ မွန်းတည့် (၁)နာရီလောက်တွင် အောက်မီးလက်ဝရွာထဲ လက်နက်ကြီးကျပြီး ပေါက်ကွဲတဲ့အတွက် အသက်(၄၈)နှစ်အရွယ် ဦးငန်းအောင်နှင့် အသက်(၆၅)နှစ်အရွယ် ဒေါ်ကိုးယဒ်တို့သည် လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ထိမှန်ခဲ့ကြောင်း၊ အလားတူစွာ ၁၈၊ ၀၂၊ ၂၀၂၀ရက်နေ့ ည(၉)နာရီဝန်းကျင်လောက်တွင် အသက်(၁၄)နှစ်အရွယ် မောင်ကျော်ဌေးဦးလည်း ထပ်မံလက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ဆံထိမှန်ခဲ့သည်ဟု ထိုသူက ဆက်ဆိုသည်။

ဖေဖော်ဝါရီလ(၁၆)ရက်နေ့တွင် လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ဆံထိမှန်တဲ့ ဦးငန်းအောင်မှာ ဘယ်ဘက်ပခုံးမှာထိမှန်ပြီး ဒဏ်ရာပြင်းထန်တဲ့အတွက် ပလက်ဝမြို့ ပြည်သူ့ဆေးရုံတွင် ဆေးဝါးကုသမှုခံယူခဲ့ကြောင်း၊ အခြား လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ထိမှန်တဲ့ ဒေါ်ကိုးယဒ်မှာမူ လက်မောင်းမှာရှပ်ထိရုံလေးဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက် ဆေးရုံကနေ လိုအပ်တဲ့ဆေးဝါးကုသမှုပြုလုပ်ပြီးနောက် ဆေးရုံမအိပ်ခိုင်းဘဲ အိမ်ပြန်ခိုင်းခဲ့ရကြောင်း ထိုသူကဆိုသည်။

ဖေဖော်ဝါရီလ(၁၈)ရက်နေ့တွင် လက်နက်ကြီးကျည်ထိမှန်တဲ့ မောင်ကျော်ဌေးဦးသည် ဦးခေါင်းတွင်ထိမှန် သဖြင့် ဒဏ်ရာပြင်းထန်တဲ့အတွက် ဆေးဝါးကုသမှုပြုလုပ်ရန် ညတွင်းချင်း ပလက်ဝမြို့ ပြည်သူ့ဆေးရုံသို့ ပို့ဆောင်ခဲ့ကြပြီး ဦးခေါင်းခွဲစိပ်ကာ  ကျည်ဆံထုတ်ယူပြီးနောက် လက်ရှိတွင် ဆေးဝါးကုသမှုခံယူနေလျှက်ရှိ ကြောင်း ထိုသူကဆက်လက်ပြောဆိုပါသည်။

အောက်မီးလက်ဝကျေးရွာသည် ပလက်ဝမြို့မှအရှေ့ဖက် ကုလာတန်မြစ်တဖက်ကမ်းမှာတည်ရှိပြီး အိမ်ခြေ စုစုပေါင်း(၁၃၀)ကျော်ရှိကြောင်းနှင့် အစိုးရတပ်မတော်နှင့် AAတို့အကြားတိုက်ပွဲကြောင့် ရွာသူရွာများသည် ရွာထဲမှာ ဆက်လက်မနေရဲကြတော့သည့်အတွက် ပလက်ဝမြို့သို့နေထိုင်ရန် ရွာကိုစွန့်ခဲ့ကြခြင်းဖြစ်ကြောင်း သတင်းရရှိ ပါသည်။
