As Chin MP U Hawi Tin enters his 6th day under the captivity of Arakan Army incommunicado, Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) is increasingly concerned about his health and physical well-being. We reiterate our call for his immediate release. We expect the AA to give him humane and dignified treatment consistent with international humanitarian and human rights standards while in their custody.

The Arakan Army must realize that every extra hour that U Hawi Tin spends under their custody sends negative signals to the international community about their image and credibility as a force fighting for freedom, human rights and democracy in Burma. It also increases the possibility of inter-communal mistrust and misunderstandings for which U Hawi Tin was accused by the AA of trying to spread among Chin and Rakhine communities living in Paletwa Township.

ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်တော် (AA) မှ ချင်းလွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ် ဦးဝှေ့တင်းကို ဖမ်းဆီး အဆက် အသွယ်ဖြတ်ထား သည်မှာ ယနေ့ နိုဝင်ဘာလ (၇) ရက်နေ့တွင် ၆ ရက်တိုင်ခဲ့ပြီဖြစ်သည်။ ချင်းလူ့အခွင့်အရေးအဖွဲ့အနေဖြင့် ဦးဝှေ့တင်း၏ ကျန်းမာရေးနှင့် ရုပ်ပိုင်းဆိုင်ရာ အခြေအနေ အတွက် လွန်စွာ စိုးရိမ်မကင်းဖြစ်မိပါသည်။ ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်တော် (AA) အနေဖြင့် ဦးဝှေ့တင်းအား အမြန်ဆုံးလွှတ်ပေးရန်လည်း CHRO မှ ထပ်မံတောင်းဆိုလိုက်သည်။ ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်တော် (AA) အနေဖြင့် ဦးဝှေ့တင်းကို ဖမ်းဆီးထိန်းသိမ်းထားစဉ်ကာလအတွင်း နိုင်ငံတကာလူ့အခွင့်အရေး စံနှုန်းများနှင့်အညီ လူသားဆန်စွာနှင့် လူ့ဂုဏ်သိက္ခာပြည့်ဝစွာ ဆက်ဆံရန်လည်း CHRO အနေဖြင့် မျှော်လင့်သည်။

ဦးဝှေ့တင်းကို ဖမ်းဆီးထိန်းသိမ်းထားသည့်အချိန် ကြာမြင့်လာသည်နှင့်အမျှ ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်တော် (AA) သည် နိုင်ငံတကာတွင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအတွင်း လွတ်လပ်ခွင့်၊ လူ့အခွင့်အရေးနှင့် ဒီမိုကရေစီ ရရှိရေး တိုက်ပွဲဝင်နေသော အဖွဲ့အနေဖြင့် ၎င်း၏ ပုံရိပ်နှင့် အသိအမှတ်ပြုမှု ကျဆင်းလာမည်ကို သတိချပ်စေလိုပါသည်။ ထို့အပြင် ယင်းသို့ ဖမ်းဆီးထားမှုသည် ပလက်ဝမြို့နယ်အတွင်း နေထိုင် သည့် ချင်းနှင့် ရခိုင်တိုင်းရင်းသားများအကြား မယုံကြည်မှုနှင့် နားလည်မှုလွဲမှားမှုများ ဖြစ်ပေါ်နိုင်ချေကို ပိုမိုကြီးထွားစေပါသည်။ အဆိုပါအချက်မှာ ဦးဝှေ့တင်းမှ ကျူးလွန်ထားသည်ဟု ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်တော် (AA) မှ စွပ်စွဲထားသော အချက်ဖြစ်သည်။
