Second Regular Council Meeting of the United Nationalities Federal Council

1. The second regular Council Meeting of the United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) began on February 10, 2018. Representatives of UNFC member organizations the New Mon State Party (NMSP), Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), Shan State Progress Party (SSPP), and Arakan National Council (ANC) attended the meeting. Additionally, representatives from the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), which is associate alliance member organization of the UNFC, also attended the meeting.

2. However, the Council Meeting is temporarily put on hold because the NMSP and LDU have to attend programs relating to the signing of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).

3. The UNFC Council Meeting will resume after the two member organizations complete the signing programs.
