A health seminar titled “Seminar to Strengthen the Decentralized Health System in Burma/Myanmar,” organized by the Health Convergence Core Group (HCCG), was successfully held on 19^th – 20^th December 2016 in Mae Sot, Thailand. Ninety representatives from the Republic of Union of Myanmar Ministry of Health and Sports, ethnic health organizations, community-based health organizations and international non-governmental organizations working on health issues attended the seminar.

Topics discussed at the seminar included current health situation of Burma/Myanmar, Federal Devolved Health System for Burma/Myanmar, Health System Strengthening Project, Ideal Health Policy for the Federal Union of Burma/Myanmar, Federal Health Policy, Consultation process on National Health Plan by Karen health groups led by Kawthoolei Department of Health and Welfare, National Health Plan (NHP) of Myanmar, Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Health Financing and Key Message from CSOs Forum (2016).
The representatives agreed to share health-related information among them and continue to consult and implement matters regarding national health policy and health programs.
